ANCIENT GREECE (800 B.C.) The Ancient Greeks were great architects or builders. Greek buildings had tall columns made of stone.

There were three types of columns:

The Doric column is the most plain.

The Ionic is famous for its scrolls or curls.

The Corinthian style is very fancy. There were usually many leaves (made of stone) at the top.
