“Youth in our village”

Lousado inhabitants have a positive view of their village and a strong bond with it. They think it’s a good place to live in. 3 4ave Euro Club

But nowadays, Lousadenses are concerned about the future. Due to the national economic crisis there is a great percentage of unemployment among youngsters and among people aged 25 to 50. Associations have an important role in the village as they aim to provide Lousadenses with some of the things that allow them to have a better life and better ways of enjoying it. 5 4ave Euro Club

Most of these associations´ members are young people who want to make a difference. 6 4ave Euro Club

Some of these associations are related with sports and free time activities for Lousadenses. Like the C.D.L. (a sports association) with activities like karate, cycling and football… 7 4ave Euro Club

… the Casa do Povo (People's House), a cultural centre where Lousadences can enjoy theatre, table tennis lessons, dancing lessons, cookery lessons, chess and cards tournaments and many more…. 9 4ave Euro Club

… and the Rancho Folclórico Santa Marinha de Lousado which preserves the traditional songs and dances of the Minho Region. 11 4ave Euro Club

There is also a Boy Scouts group that organizes a wide range of activities in partnership with the community. 12 4ave Euro Club

Finally, Rotaract is one of the associations related with charity work whose members organize different activities like fund raising campaigns, social voluntary work, visits to elderly centers and orphanages and many others. 13 4ave Euro Club
