Long Term Goal : To enable the students to enhance their knowledge regarding modern sciences understanding as well as application of 21st century scientific knowledge.
Short Term Plan: To encourage children to explore scientific phenomena independently as well as collectively in groups. To encourage them for more practical work in order to implement that in their practical life. To provide a science lab at JrIV, V, VI level equipped with innovative classroom resources which fulfill the demands of 21st century. To enhance children’s interpersonal skills by respecting and listening other’s views. To trigger their curiosity for an unseen process.
Solutions to Anticipated Challenges The headmistress may not like my new methodology or may unwilling to provide new resources because of expenses. Some parents may not understand my methods. I do not own a computer. Shortage of resources may be the problem. Solutions: I will share the course manual and my notes from this course with my headmistress. I will arrange individual parents meeting in order to make them understand the new methodology. I will stay after school to use a computer in the school’s computer lab to create productivity tools. By using domestic tools we can clarify students’ concepts.
Promote use of efficient resources like Internet and library. Timeline Plan using computer lab to check children’s previous knowledge and usage of activities to create interest and love for scientific phenomenon. Instructional Strategies and Tasks I will help children to have opportunities to understand scientific phenomena by using upgraded Av/Aids . To enable them have an independent approach I will give them practical home assignments. To help children develop their curiosity challenging assignments will be given. I will provide children projects that involve group discussions as well as critical analysis of each others work which helps in improving interpersonal skills.
Conclusion By implementing my newly acquired 21st century teaching approaches, students’ potentials will be polished in the right direction which will help them in applying better techniques of scientific phenomena .
