Old Standards Are focused on English language acquisition More difficult for teachers to use Lengthy Do not correspond to CCSS or NGSS Have not been revised since /22/20143
New Standards Are focused on academics Built around Can-Do Descriptors Short and concise Easily blended with CCSS academic and NGSS standards Correspond to CCSS and NGSS 10/22/20144
WIDA’s CAN DO philosophy is visible in the company’s research.
