Honors PLAN Discussion Why are we taking the PLAN? –To gauge our progress, and get us ready to start the college application process. –To see our strengths and weaknesses Who will see these results? –Only you and Mr. Chrischilles will see them What happens if I get 3 point growth? –Then your final grade increases by 1 letter grade!!

How should I approach tomorrow? To give yourself your best shot at getting 3 points of growth, you should:… –Get to class on time. This is a 40 minute test, and class is only 45. –Eliminate incorrect answers –Make sure you do ALL of the problems you know how to do! A lot of the time the geometry questions are toward the end and you dont want to miss them. First 30 minutes: Do all the problems you know how to do (place X next to problems you skip) Minutes 30 – 38: Go back to some of the problems you skipped and try to figure out a few of them. Minutes 38-40: Guess! Choose your favorite letter and fill in that bubble! Guessing doesnt hurt you on the ACT or PLAN.

Reflection Write a paragraph responding to these questions: –Why do I want to work hard tomorrow and try to get 3 point growth on the PLAN? –What do I need to do to give myself my best shot at 3 point growth? –Why is this important?
