AIM: How do we find slope and y-intercept of a line if it is not in y = mx + b form? Do Now: Do Now: Identify the slope and y-intercept of the following graph, then plug into the equation of the line

HW Review: Contracts and Materials are due Monday Regents packet is due Tuesday

Big Ideas: Sometimes, the equations are not in y = mx + b form You must have them in y = mx + b form to find the slope and y-intercept

Example #1: This isnt in y = mx + b form, so you need to get y by itself Divide everything by 2, then you can identify slope and y - intercept

Example #2: Given: 2y + 2 = 4x Identify: Slope and y-intercept, then write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form Subtract 2 from both sides Then, divide everything by 2 Then, identify slope and y-intercept

Quiz Time! You may use your notes Each time you talk, you will lose points you only have TWO questions per quiz, so ask wisely If you have a question, please raise your hand – you only have TWO questions per quiz, so ask wisely When you finish, answer the extra credit question, please
