About the Author Won the Newberry Medal in 1995 for Walk Two Moons Sharon spends 9 months of the year in England teaching American and British Literature. The other 3 months she spend in upstate New York on Lake Chautauqua She has two adult children, Rob and Karin Sharon uses her own life experiences to inspire her writing. Speed Round- Week One You have 90 seconds to read the following. Decide whether the vocabulary word is used in the correct context. Write true or false. Christy decided to divulge into the book, by reading and responding through different projects. We thought the gentleman was peculiar because he looked like a normal man. The students elaborated by adding a lot of detail to their story. The teenagers were rewarded a medal for their defiant behavior. The friends decided to ambush each other because they loved each other so much.

Sally coaxed the stray dog towards her using a large dog bone. The doctors and nurses took their time getting into surgery because they knew the patient needed urgent attention. You could tell the friends acted on impulse because they planned their trip very carefully and discussed all the details before leaving. The old barn seemed eerie because it was dark, old, and had many strange noises. The American Flag symbolizes our country and our freedom.
