 There are four different types of commands in the German language.

Du commands (familiar) use the 2 nd person singular form of the verb (kaufen) du kaufst drop the subject pronoun and the ending kauf ************************************************ drop any umlaut you may have added träg….. weg trag…….weg any separable prefix is placed at the end of the phrase trag ….weg trag …....weg

Plural commands (ihr) use the second person plural form of the verb ihr kauft drop the subject pronoun kauft ******************************************* any separable prefix is placed at the end of the phrase tragt……………. weg

Formal commands (Sie) use the formal form (Sie) of the verb Sie kaufen transpose the word order kaufen Sie ********************************************** any separable prefix is placed at the end of the phrase tragen Sie………weg

Let’s commands (wir) use the first person plural form of the verb wir kaufen transpose the word order kaufen wir ******************************************* any separable prefix is placed at the end of the phrase tragen wir………weg
