10 Top tips for working in Partnership

10 Top Tips for working in Partnership 1. Be clear about your purpose and objectives. What are you trying to achieve? 2. Make sure you have the right partners involved. Formal roles matter but who can actually help you to achieve your objective? 3. Do your best to get the partners to nominate the right person to represent them – someone who can contribute and commit.

10 Top Tips for Partnership 4. Respect all the partners – not just the organisations with the big battalions. 5. Seek to have an honest dialogue about what each partner can realistically do. 6. Do not be over ambitious. Clear long term objectives need to be expressed in manageable stages.

10 Top Tips for working in partnership 7. Hold each other to account for the delivery of performance and promises. 8. Build trust by working towards the smallest possible gap between what you say and what you do. 9. Behave towards others as you would wish them to behave towards you – avoid condescension, arrogance and game playing.

10 Top Tips for working in Partnership 10. Allow leadership to flourish. Leadership is about showing the way, knowing what to do next it is not about the biggest budgets and the highest status.
