* HAVE SAME DENOMINATORS. * HAVE DIFFERENT NUMERATORS. * ADD ONLY NUMERATORS. * LEAVE DENOMINATORS ALONE. * HAVE SAME DENOMINATORS. * HAVE DIFFERENT NUMERATORS. * ADD ONLY NUMERATORS. * LEAVE DENOMINATORS ALONE.

* HAVE DIFFERENT DENOMINATORS. * ADD NUMERATORS AND MAKE DENOMINATORS ALIKE. * DIVIDE DENOMINATORS UNTIL BOTH FRACTIONS ARE THE SAME.

5/10 + 3/10 = 8/10 ONLY ADD THE NUMERATORS: = 8 AFTER THAT PLACE YOUR DENOMINATOR BELOW THE NUMERATOR. ANSWER: 8/10

3/5 + 1/10 = 7/10 3/5 IS THE SAME AS 6/10 SO 6/10 + 1/10 = 7/10 CONVERT THE DENOMINATOR UNTIL BOTH FRACTIONS HAVE THE SAME DENOMINATOR.

2/5 + 5/15 = 11/15 IN ORDER TO GET YOUR ANSWER YOU HAVE TO MULTIPLY 2 AND 5 BY 3 2X3 = 6 AND 5X3 = 15 2/5 = 6/15 6/15 + 5/15 = 11/15

5/10 – 4/10 = 1/10 YOU ONLY SUBTRACT THE NUMERATORS. LEAVE THE DENOMINATORS ALONE.
