Simple Present: Usa-se para descrever ações habituais ou permanentes. Forma: Afirmativa: Sujeito + verbo I study at CMC. Negativa: Sujeito + don’t + verbo I don’t study in Maringá. Interrogativa: (WH-) Do + sujeito + verbo Do you study at CMC? Where do you study? Porém...

Se o sujeito da frase for He, She ou It... Na frase afirmativa, acresenta-se –s ou –es ao verbo. Ex: He eats breakfast at home. Na forma negativa, utiliza-se doesn’t antes do verbo, que volta a sua forma básica. Ex: He doesn’t eat breakfast at school. Na forma interrogativa, utiliza-se o auxiliar does antes do sujeito da frase. Ex: Does he have lunch at home? What time does he have breakfast?

Palavras associadas ao uso do simple present: Always, usually, often, never... On + dia da semana no plural (on Mondays, on Saturdays...) Every day, every week... Verbos usados no simple present (e não no present continuous) Need (precisar); have (ter – no sentido de possuir), like (gostar), want (querer).

Usa-se o present continuous... Para descrever ações em andamento ou que ocorrem no momento da fala. Para falar de planos futuros que já tenham sido confirmados. Ex: Father is cooking today. Mother is cooking next Sunday.

Como se forma o present continuous: Na afirmativa: Sujeito + Verbo be + Verbo/ing I am writing. You are studying. He is playing soccer. She is reading a book. It is raining. We are learning English. You are listening to music. They are doing their homework.

Como se forma o present continuous: Na negativa: Sujeito + Verbo be/not + Verbo/ing I am not writing. You aren’t studying. He isn’t playing soccer. She isn’t reading a book. It isn’t raining. We aren’t learning English. You aren’t listening to music. They aren’t doing their homework.
