Are you a Conservative or a Liberal?
If a conservative does not like guns, he does not buy one. If a liberal does not like guns, then no one should have one.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he does not eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants to ban all meat products for everyone.
If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy. A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.
If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly enjoy their life. If a liberal is homosexual, they loudly demand legislated respect.
If a black or Hispanic is conservative, he sees himself as independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government help.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative does not like a talk show host, he switches stations. Liberals demand that those they do not like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he does not go to church. A liberal wants any mention of God or religion silenced.
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the government provide his.
A conservative will forward this to his friends. A liberal will delete it because he finds it “offensive.”
THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND By Woody Guthrie Sung by The Kingston Trio Chorus: This land is your land, this land is my land From California, to the New York Island From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters This land was made for you and me As I was walking a ribbon of highway I saw above me an endless skyway I saw below me a golden valley This land was made for you and me Chorus I've roamed and rambled and I've followed my footsteps To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts And all around me a voice was sounding This land was made for you and me Chorus The sun comes shining as I was strolling The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling The fog was lifting a voice come chanting This land was made for you and me Chorus As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there And that sign said – No Trespassin' But on the other side.... it didn't say nothin’ Now that side was made for you and me! Chorus In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple Near the relief office - I see my people And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin' If this land's still made for you and me.
