Elective sheetCourse Selection sheet for your grade Academic Handbook for electives and graduation requirements (available on- line) Transcript Credit check sheet Pen or pencil

transfer grades from your transcript to your credit check sheet.

Next, highlight or “x” your current courses on your credit check sheet.

Now circle/highlight (with another color) the boxes to the right of your core classes and additional courses to equal 7 credits; these are the classes for which you need to register.

You now need your completed credit check sheet and your course selection sheet

Using your credit check sheet as a guide, circle the course and level for each academic area that you need to take next year.

If you are taking an AP or PAP class you must have a signed contract on file in the counseling office. Make sure that you READ both sides and sign the back acknowledging the requirements of the program. These forms are available from your advisor, the counseling office, or from the counselors during lunch in the cafeteria. No contract, no PAP/AP class!!

If you have completed and passed your technology applications credit then skip this section, if not, make your choice and circle it. If you have completed and passed your fine arts credit then skip this section, if not, make your choice and circle it. You will not need to get a signature from the director to participate in the class of your choice, i.e., Band, orchestra, advanced theater classes, choir, drill team, stage production; however, you must be on the roster provided by the instructor to be enrolled in the course. Be sure to check with the instructor to inform him/her of your intent to be in their program.

If you have completed and passed your professional communications credit then skip this section, if not, circle it. If you have completed and passed your required foreign language credits then skip this section, if not, make your choice and circle it.

You are required to have 1- 1/2 credits of PE/athletics for graduation, so if you have completed your PE requirements then skip this section. If you are an athlete you will be scheduled into the class when your name appears on the roster that the coach will provide the counselors. Health is also required, but if you have already passed this course skip this section. If not, circle it.

Using the elective sheet, choose electives from your career cluster choice; write the electives in the elective box under the year in which you plan to take that particular elective. Refer to the academic handbook for choices, grade level restrictions, pre-requisites, and recommendations (available on- line).

List the Career Cluster and possible Career Choices you chose from the Electives by Career Cluster Form. These Career Choices will be related to your Career Interests or Goals.

The elective section is very important. You must completely fill in your elective choices, in order of preference, according to your chosen career cluster. Failure to completely fill in this section will allow your counselor to choose your courses for you and you WILL NOT be allowed a schedule change.

Write the electives in the box; remember to write your electives in order of preference.

Go to Click on “Students” tab at the top Click on “Parent’s Guide” Click on “Academic Information” Click on the “High School Academic Handbook Read course descriptions in the on-line Academic Handbook before selecting an elective course. You will be held accountable to what you register for.

Make sure to get your parent’s signature on your form.

Before turning in your registration sheet make sure that you have at least 7 credits, have completely filled in the elective box, have signed and attached the AP/PAP contract, if necessary, and that you have signatures of your parents and yourself. Your counselor will begin calling you out of class and meeting with you face-to-face, one-on-one February 19. Failure to complete this form will require you to complete one with your counselor.

Applications are required for the following courses and are available from the sponsor: Peer Mentoring/Modified P.E. (see Coach Vaden) AVID (see Ms. K. Pearl) Echo (school newspaper) (see Ms. Ferris) Sports Medicine (see Ms. Randermann) All completed applications are to be returned to the sponsor of the program. You will be notified by the sponsor of acceptance into the program. If you are not selected to the program to which you applied, your next elective choice will be chosen to total your 7 required credits.

Please turn in your completed registration form to your English teacher by Monday, February 4 th. If you’ll need to speak with your counselor before then, you may complete a request to see the counselor in the counseling office before or after school. Your SWAT advisor and your counselor look forward to working with you to make this a smooth and successful registration for
