Birth Control Pills Purpose: Prevent Ovulation until ready to retrieve & Down Regulate ovaries Start: Several months before start Notes: STOP on date listed on your calendar

Doxycycline 100mg Purpose: Prevent infection in sperm sample and prevent infection after implant Start:Males: 10 days before sample (start when female starts Lupron) Females: start on day of Ovidrel injection Notes:Take with small amount of food to prevent upset stomach; avoid milk or antacids within 1 hour before or after taking

Methylprednisolone Purpose: Prevent allergic reaction to procedure Start:On day of retrieval Notes: Take 2 tablets once daily with food

LUPRON (Leuprolide) Purpose: Prevent Ovulation Start: day of baseline Notes: MUST be kept in refrigerator MUST inject twice daily 12 hours apart

Accusure 0.5 syringes Purpose: Inject Lupron Notes: Inject 0.2ml or 20 units

Gonal-F ** Bravelle ** Follistim Purpose: Promote follicle development Start: Day of baseline Notes: MUST be kept in refrigerator MUST inject at same time each day in the evening at the same time as Lupron (not in same syringe)

Ovidrel Pregnyl Purpose: Causes ovulation Start: 36 hours prior to retrieval Notes: MUST be kept in refrigerator MOST time sensitive of all injections ONE injection only 36 hours before retrieval at exact time given (call in if unable to inject at this time)

Progesterone Purpose: Enhances buildup of uterine lining to increase retention of embryos Start: Day of implant Notes: IM shot Once daily/Least time sensitive/MUST have someone else do injection/BRING with to retrieval and they will demonstrate again

25G 3cc Syringes Purpose: Use to draw up and inject Progesterone Start:Day of retrieval Notes:Change needle after draw up and before inject 21G or 22G 1.5" needles Notes: After draw up Progesterone, change needle before injection

Prometrium Purpose: Same as Progesterone Start: IF cannot tolerate Progesterone IM Notes: Once daily/May be instructed to take one pill and insert one pill into vagina

Estradiol 1mg Purpose: Build up endometrium in frozen embryo transplant. Start:When directed Notes: 3 tablets twice daily for 14 days; then 2 tablets twice daily
