Summary This book is about a boy, named Adam, who is nearing adulthood and lives in Hawaii near Pearl Harbor in the year 1941. He was the son of a military officer. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and if he was going to live he had to step up and be a man. One thing he did was help to rescue soldiers even with the fear that his father may be dead. Then the U.S. Armed Forces came in and saved them.

Favorite Point My favorite point was when the Japanese start bombing Pearl Harbor because its when all the action starts. Also because it’s when Adam understands that he can’t be a foolish boy if he was going to live through this attack. The last reason I like this part is because it’s the beginning of an important part in history.

Why It’s Important to the Story It’s important because it’s when Adam realizes that he has to be a man and help his nation beat the Japanese.
