YOUR FINAL GRADE Your midterm: max. 100 points Your quiz + your final: max. 100 points Your two papers: max. 2 x 50 points max. 100 points All these points will be added up (max. 300 points) and divided by 3.

Calculating your final grade Step 1: All your exam and paper points will be added up, and divided by 3. Then your excessive absences will be subtracted (-1 point per 2 absences above 3) and your max. 4 extra credit points will be added. This number is your preliminary final grade. Step 2: That number will be evaluated in terms of your class participation. If your grade is borderline, and you have been actively participating in class, it can be upgraded.
