How It Works

 Each scout earns money for skiing trip, rafting, big city trip, camp, etc.  Troop earns money for…  Tents, axes, saws, etc.  Awards, patches, food  Travel and trips

Clean picked bags of plastic bottles Clean picked bags of paper Trash bags with all other stuff

 Clean the stadium properly to meet our employer’s expectations  Sort all waste streams accurately  Get done as quickly as possible

 Paper cups  Cardboard pizza boxes  without much pizza or food – crumbs are ok  Popcorn boxes, bags or cones  Pressed cardboard drink/food trays  Other paper food wrappers - if clean  Cardboard boxes  Programs  Newspaper  Office paper

 Plastic bottles  leave the caps on even with liquid inside  Plastic soda or drink cups, all varieties  except Styrofoam (that is TRASH)  no lids, no straws—lid & straw are picked up by trash pickers  stomp cup and both will pop off, drain cup, put in clear bag  Glass bottles  Beverage cans (aluminum, steel, tin, other metals)  Pure aluminum hot dog wrappers  not foil coated paper type, that is TRASH

 Prefer containers empty  Bags not so heavy  Containers with trash inside are TRASH

 Plastic drink lids & straws  Styrofoam cups and lids  Cardboard or paper heavily contaminated with food  Metalized paper hot dog wrappers  Wax paper  Cheese containers & cheese container lids  Spittoons  Gum and candy wrappers  Bam bam noise makers  Everything else: IF IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT!

 Work from Top to Bottom  Windward to Leeward  Teams of 3: 1. Paper guy goes first, 2. Plastics guy goes second, 3. Trashman is third.

 Bring gloves  Bring a bottle of water or canteen (better)  Wear a hat and shades if it’s sunny  Wear old shoes, pants  iPods make it go quick!
