Netronics 5x200 Series Range Performance (T1s)

Best Spectral Efficiency 21 Spectral efficiency is the Throughput per Used Spectrum. Netronics 5x100 achieves best spectral efficiency by: Using MIMO. Adding OFDM sub carriers. Using additional 5/6 coding rate for 64 QAM modulation. By utilizing efficient frame aggregation and increased frame size.

Dealing with interferences 22 Patented Air Interface. Directional antennas. ACS (Automatic Channel Selection). Adaptive modulation (automatic adaptive rate). OFDM based air-interface, enabling N-LOS deployments. Diversity mode. Smart FEC. Patented ARQ. HSS (synchronization of multiple links). Configurable jitter buffer. Spectrum Viewer

ACS (Automatic Channel Selection) 23 Automatic selection of “best-quality” channel (based on PER). Enhanced robustness and higher performance.

Automatic Adaptive Rate 24 The system changes air interface rate and modulation dynamically, depending on radio link conditions. Benefits: Maximization of Ethernet throughput. Enhanced robustness. Better performance in interference.

OFDM OFDM 54 Carriers. Designed for NLOS deployments. 25 OFDM 54 Carriers. Designed for NLOS deployments. Enables connectivity via reflections in Radio path. Enhanced by patented protocol to supports both TDM and ETH services. 54 sub carriers

Hub Site Synchronization 26 No more limitations. HSS between Netronics 5x100 radios. NetStream 5x36 radios. Netronics 5x100 and NetStream 5x36 radios. HSS up to 16 radios in a site. Fully supported by Netronics Manager . Supported by software upgrade to Netronics 5x100 install base. All Netronics 5x100 radios in the field are HW ready for HSS.

HSS Applications Access and Corporate Connectivity Backhaul 27 Access and Corporate Connectivity Where any links originate from a common hub site. With HSS by Netronics 5x100 such applications now support high capacity connectivity. Backhaul HSS is needed in installations where a Netronics 5x100 link is the backhaul for many lower capacity access links. The backhaul link can be synchronized to the access links to mitigate potential mutual interference.

HSS Applications Attack Plan 28 Attack Plan Identify existing customers with mixed network of NetStream 5x36 and Netronics 5x100. Propose the HSS solution for mixed deployment.

Monitored Hot Standby (MHS) 1+1 29 Providing redundancy and backup to TDM services- Targeted for Cellular backhaul. Providing protection against: Equipment failure (ODU and IDU). Loss of air interface. Using a primary link and a secondary link can be done with: Two Netronics 5x100 links. A Netronics 5x100 link and a NetStream 5x36 link with new IDU-C. Two NetStream 5x36 links with new IDU-C (single dual-pol antenna can be used).

MHS Applications 30 Provide high reliability high-capacity Point-to-Point links. Provide redundancy and high reliability for carrier class operators. Optimized for high capacity links operating in license-free bands. Additional values: Each link can use a different band for maximum protection to the air interface. Affordable SLA can be offered by protecting part of the Netronics 5x100 trunks with NetStream 5x36.

MHS Spec 31 Supported in Netronics 5x100 by software upgrade to the install base. TDM service cut-over from the primary to the secondary link is completely automatic, less than 50 ms. Automatic restore to primary link as soon as it becomes available. Supports up to 16 TDM services for Netronics 5x100 and 4 TDM services for NetStream 5x36. HSS is used between the links (Install both sites with HSS cables for additional protection). Ethernet services No Ethernet 1+1 Ethernet traffic is always “on” on both links, while the TDM service is running only on one link. Each link carries different Ethernet traffic. It is possible to aggregate Ethernet capacity with LACP on the switch

Diversity Antenna diversity Uses two antennas. 32 Diversity Capacity 25 Mbps MIMO Capacity 50 Mbps Antenna diversity Uses two antennas. Each antenna experiences a different interference environment. The system chooses the best received signal providing enhanced robustness.

Diversity 33 Antenna diversity requires antenna separation, possible by two methods: Polarization Diversity - combines a pair of antennas with orthogonal polarizations. Spatial Diversity - employs antennas that are physically separated from one another.

Diversity – Receive Combining 34

Diversity – When to Use MIMO 35 MIMO Use MIMO Mode to get the highest capacity, up to 50 Mbps full duplex. Use MIMO when the air conditions are similar between the antennas. Use Diversity instead of MIMO in the following cases: When the system cannot operate in MIMO Mode due to link conditions. When you get higher capacity in Diversity Mode than in MIMO Mode. Note that Diversity Mode requires understanding of the nature of interference and of the correct solution to deploy. Advise PS. Remember that the capacity in Diversity is ½ than that of MIMO.

Spectrum View An RF survey tool 36 An RF survey tool Support link installation before service activation. Activated by the installer. Helps selecting the best channel during installation. Supports quick and easy installation.

Spectrum View – Display Information 37 Spectral measurement for each of the 4 receivers that make the link. Spectral power measurements in 5MHz channel granularity. Current, average and maximum power per channel. Channels free from radars, with radars and barred (for DFS bands). Scanned and un-scanned channels. Channels selected for ACS. Current operational channel. Time stamp of the last spectrum scan. Zoom, selective view of antennas and sites and detail level.

Spectrum View – Tool Capabilities 38 Save and restore – save the spectral information and also view retrieved spectral information from historical spectrum scans. Diagnostics - the Spectrum View information is logged as part of the Diagnostics Information to improve link and system diagnostics and remote support. It can be retrieved from the Netronics Manager menu with Help  Get Diagnostic Information. Management Integration - Spectrum view information is supported in Netronics MIB and can be used by external Network Management applications. Designed for Unlicensed Spectrum – the spectrum measurement algorithms are designed to show accurate information while accommodating with variances in frequency, temperature and interference power and overcoming anomalies that tend to occur in high interference environments. Scanning Time – ~10 seconds for an entire band scan. It is recommended to scan for a few minutes for accurate results.
