PHIL 111 Spring 2011 FINAL WRAP-UP All about grades

QUIZ AND FINAL QUIZ MAX. 40 POINTS FINAL MAX. 60 POINTS TOTAL: MAX. 100 POINTS

The Point System : A : A 92-90: A : B : B 82-80: B : C : C 72-70: C : D : D 62-60: D- 59-0: F

CALCULATING YOUR FINAL GRADE Your quiz + your midterm: max. 100 points Your quiz + your final: max. 100 points Your 2 papers: max. 2 x 50 points = max. 100 points All these points will be added up and divided by 3. From that number will be deducted your penalties for excessive absences, and your extra credit points (max.4) will be added. In borderline cases your class participation will determine your ultimate final grade.

CLASS PARTICIPATION Step 1: All your points will be added up, and divided by 3. From that number will be subtracted penalties for your excessive absences (-1 point per 2 absences above 3), and your max. 4 extra credit points will be added. Step 2: That number will be evaluated in terms of your class participation. If your grade is borderline ( , , or ), and you have been actively participating in class, it may be upgraded.

ONE FINAL WORD: HAVE A GREAT SUMMER! HAVE A GREAT FUTURE! HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN!
