WHO strategy for reducing deaths from drowning based on: Increasing Participation Education Raising Standards 1.Making sure that as many people as possible can swim and be safe in water 3.Ensuring that there are properly trained lifesavers who can provide immediate resuscitation and first aid 2.Educating children about the dangers of swimming in unsafe waters and parents on the need for proper supervision 4.Physical barriers, fences and walls, to prevent accidental immersion

Two Programmes for Increasing Participation  Swim Academy for multi-site operators of pools or swim schools  Swim Star Swim School for single site pools or swim schools
