Organizing Assessment Starting with LibPAS By Candice Guevarra Duke University Libraries, July 22, 2013

Assessment as “Measurement”. Define library outcomes in the context of institutional mission. Determine levels of success from a department level to the “big picture.” Data organization and centralization Create accountability guidelines.

Assessment as “Comparison”. Define performance indicators. Identify frequency of data collection: weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. Provide sessions presenting: Comparison of peer universities Data trends over the years

Beginning Stages. Where will the data live? Who is responsible for collection? Will the data be accessible?
