August 9, 2006Ad Hoc Operator Training 5 MAS Overview Message Queue for Each Device –List of all messages that currently should be displayed –Priority from 1 to 256 assigned to each message –Highest (closest to 1) priority is displayed If two messages share highest priority, first one sent wins –If queue is empty, device is blanked Default Priorities (can be changed) –1: Manually created messages –2 – 255: Used by Incident Management system –256: DMS message sequences –Travel Time messages typically have default near 256 DMS and HAR Messages Redirected to MAS –Send Message: Add Message to Queue –Blank Device: Remove All Messages from Queue
