Revelation 4:9-11 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty–four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

Revelation 4:9-11 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty–four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. Interpretation > Application: Johns 3 Principles on Worship EXPRESS WORSHIP BY 1. Giving Thanks Express appreciation for the ACCOMPLISHMENTS of God. 2. Giving Glory Express admiration and awe for the ABILITIES and ATTRIBUTES of God. 3. Giving Honor Express reverence in for the IDENTITY of God, (who God is, including the names of God).

Interpretation > Application: Practice Johns 3 Principles EXPRESS WORSHIP BY Giving Thanks, Glory, and Honor Holiness Eternity Power and Authority = Lord/God/Almighty Now lets us express our worship with this new love language and vocabulary.

Qn #1: Who are the twenty-four elders? Founders of the people of God from both the Old and New Testaments representing, but not equivalent to, The 12 Patriarchs of the Tribes of Israel The 12 Apostles of the Church Qn #2: How did they get to this place? They were granted this position of honor by their stewardship of leadership.

Qn #3: How do the twenty-four elders worship? Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty–four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

Worship by the 24 Elders ACTS OF WORSHIP 1. Fall from their thrones before God Demonstrating reverence to authority far greater than their own. 2. Cast their crowns before Gods throne Giving their symbols of honor to the One more worthy than they.

Worship by the 24 Elders WORDS OF WORSHIP 1. You are worthy Absolutely, far more than we 2. Our Lord and God Personal relationship 3.To receive glory, honor, and power Our greatest human heroes grant worship to One they acknowledge as MUCH greater! They give God their glory, honor, and power!

Worship by the 24 Elders WHAT IMPRESSES THEM MOST these founders of the faith, pioneers of the people of God, apostles of the Church, spiritual entrepreneurs 1. for You created all things in the beginning, out of nothing, out of chaos, You (our Lord God) created all things 2.and by Your will they were created and have their being creation didnt just happen, but was an act of divine will, God is the first cause, the Intelligent Designer

Application of the Model of the 24 Elders Worship to Our Own 1. Their Acts of Worship Acknowledge Gods SUPERIOR AUTHORITY with tangible OFFERINGS of their LIVES BEST EFFORTS. 2.Their Words of Worship Give GLORY, HONOR, and POWER to God as their PERSONAL Lord and God and Extoll God for what impresses them most. In the case of these Founders of the Faith it is: Gods WILL and ABILITY to create.
