A Comparative Study

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom. MMr. Yogesh Raval Principal of an International school serving the cause of education for last 20 years. MMr. Yagnesh Patel currently serving at NASA – USA. Other Tour Packages CCommercial tours / travels owners and organizers. MMr. Dhananjay Raval – CEO, Ankur Hobby Center promoting understanding and interest in science amongst teachers and students for last 24 years.

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom. DDiscovery organizes a pre tour science workshop, conducted by prominent scientists of India to enable the participating students derive maximum benefit from the study tour. Other Tour Packages NNot applicable

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom PPractical exposure of the topics learnt in the classroom. EExperiential learning, team building and sharing responsibilities. EEdutainment – Education blended with entertainment. Other Tour Packages CCommercial. OOnly enjoying vacation in which major responsibilities are either shared by parents or by the tour organizer. OOnly entertainment and fun; educational aspect is usually overlooked.

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom AActivities selected and planned guarantee enriching educational experiences. PPlaces selected are directly related to the curriculum and syllabus of the students. Other Tour Packages AActivities are never selected and planned which would have academic orientation. PPlaces selected may or may not have any connection to the curriculum and syllabus of the children.

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom PProfessionally trained tutors are deployed who can well handle the curiosity of students. TTutors accompany them from the beginning to the end of the tour, so they share healthy rapport with students. BBeing well tuned with tutors, students understand effectively from them. Other Tour Packages LLocal guides are employed who may treat children as mere customers. GGuides accompany children only on specific places of visit so they don’t have healthy rapport. BBeing strangers, children may not feel comfortable asking questions to the local guides.

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom PProfessionally trained tutors inform the students well in advance so they approach the places, processes, people and events with a perfect mindset of learning something from them. Other Tour Packages GGuides or parents may or may not be able to explain the details of places, processes, people and events as explicitly as required by the children.

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom TThe company CEO and the administrative staff accompany and guide students personally on every International study tours. WWe accompany students from the airport to the airport in India. Other Tour Packages GGuides may have no experience with the personal care children need. GGuides keep changing from place to place during International tours.

Discovery… Learning Beyond Classroom PPlaces and activities are selected keeping the age group in mind. SStudents of same age group can relate well with each other and thus enjoy learning together. MMeals are specifically planned according to the taste and requirements of students. Other Tour Packages CChildren may not feel comfortable on a tour mainly designed for adults. PPerspectives of children and adults differ thus there may be conflicts of choices exercised.  One has to compromise while accommodating everybody’s choice in a group.
