Ive taught 12+ years in 4 th -8 th grade 2 boys, ages 4 and 7 Live in Cumming Degrees from Florida State (Go Noles), Kennesaw State, and Lincoln Memorial University Love History

Students received a copy of the GCPS AKS from their advisement teacher at the beginning of the year. Students will receive a syllabus that outlines what is being covered at the beginning of each semester. Students will also receive a Study Guide for each Unit of Study. The Syllabus and Study Guides will serve as their tools to review for Unit Tests, Final Exams, and for the CRCT in May.

If at all possible, please check the website when absent and do any work that can be done…this will reduce the stress of making up so much work once they return. If a student is absent the day an assignment is graded, it is their responsibility to turn it in the day of their return. If absent the day of an assessment, be prepared to make it up the day of return. Late work is to be turned in during ASAP… All work needs to be kept organized in a Social Studies folder with fasteners, or small 3 ring binder, along with a completed table of contents.

All assignments must be complete and turned in BEFORE requesting ARP form. Student initiated. Must be requested within 5 days. Student must attend before school review session. Retest grade will be recorded, even if it is lower. NO retest during last 3 days of grading period. NO retest for Interims or Post Tests.

Follow rules Be PREPARED (bring pencils, pens, paper, and folder EVERYDAY!) Arrive on time: locker break after 5 th period, 2 min. between classes, 5 min. after Connections

Attendance Arrive to class on time. The first week will be a grace period, and after that, students will receive 1 warning and then detention if tardy. If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to get the work and complete it. It will be on my website: Begin what is listed for the day under AGENDA and dont talk and socialize while you wait for the class to begin

Homework: 5% Class-work: 10% Quizzes/Small Projects: 25% Summative Assessments: 45% Interim: 5% Comprehensive Final: 10%

PARENT PORTAL- Parent Portal allows you daily access to attendance, discipline and grade reports for your child. * Please keep in mind that updates to the portal are not immediate and require a turn-around time of 24 hours.

Rules: LMS Discipline Plan 1. Take responsibility for being on time with all of your materials and be prepared to work 2. Follow directions the first time they are given 3. Wait to be recognized before speaking 4. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself 5. Follow all county and school rules and policies

Consequences: 1. Warning 2. Timeout 3. Teacher detention and parent contact 4. Administrative Referral 5. Severe-Clause – Removal from Class

Seventh Grade Students (For Promotion to 8th Grade) Must achieve a passing score on each of the following: * CRCT Reading * CRCT Language Arts * CRCT Math *CRCT Science * CRCT Social Studies Students who do not achieve a passing score - and did not pass the class for that content area - will be required to attend summer school to earn promotion to 8th grade For students who do not achieve a passing score but earned no grade lower than a C in their academic classes (74), the summer school requirement will be waived and they will be promoted to 8th grade.
