Models of Provision 3 models proposed Model 1: working in a HCS specialism –i.e. within blood sciences specialism of the Life Sciences division –trainee associate would undertake a programme based on the first two years of the PTP BSc (Hons), including the work-based assessment and would exit with a FdSc
Models of Provision 3 models proposed Model 2: working across a HCS division –work primarily within one specialism within a division, but undertake additional roles from other specialisms within that division. –i.e. roles are emerging across cardiac physiology, respiratory physiology and vascular science specialisms. –Associate practitioners would complete the FdSc in their primary specialism and undertake additional learning modules and work based training in the additional specialism areas as required.
Models of Provision 3 models proposed Model 3: working across HCS divisions –Cross divisional roles across life sciences, physiological sciences and physics and engineering may emerge within community and acute care settings
Models of Provision Programme delivery must be accessible and flexible. Should include part-time taught courses, distance learning and blended learning options. Must carry academic credit to ensure individuals are eligible to progress to the practitioner training programme (PTP). To maximise the scope for career progression, the MSC models for the provision of these programmes are drawn from the PTP curricula.
