OUR CENTER It was established as a foundation of the Ministry of National Education in It is a public institution which gives service to in seven counties to the people consisting of various districts of kırsehır. It is a governmental institution works under supervision of Ministry of National Education. It provides implication and coordination of guidance and counseling activities in schools and also does the determination of individuals who are in need of special education.

STRUCTURE OF THE CENTER CENTER Administrative Department Special Education Department Guidance and Counseling Department

Administrative Department; Responsible of the administrative activities of the organization, like communication with board of education, authorities of education, primary and secondary education institutions, special education schools and other educational organizations; official correspondence; organization of meetings, seminars, conferences and etc; works related with personnel.

Special Education Department diagnoses and evaluates a person who needs special training and diverts them to relevant institutions to receive education and the department also follows the person's development levels and education programs up. supports to the principals, teachers and counselors of special education schools. supports to the principals, teachers and counselors of other schools giving mainstreaming education. measures the intellectual and developmental functioning of the students or individuals who need special education by a standardized intelligence test (Stanford-Binet, Wisc-R, Leiter etc) and developmental tests (GEÇDA, Denver) and measures the educational performance of the students and individuals who need special education.

Guidance and Counseling Department gives psychological support and guidance service to the child, teachers and their parents. provides the coordination and implication of guidance and counseling activities in schools (primary, secondary and special education schools). helps emotional, cognitive and social development of children and adolescents. tries to deal with children’s school failure, exam anxiety, sibling jealousy, behavior disorders and etc. Organizes and plans the activities related with intervention to crisis, risk and violence. provides same service with psychological consultants for different schools and experts in health institutes.

GENERAL DUTIES OF THE CENTER Vocational Guidance Educational Guidance Counseling (Psychological Guidance) Placement and Follow-up Consultation and Assistance (Families, teachers, administrators…) Family Counseling Special Education

Vocational Guidance (individual or group); helps students selecting appropriate vocation according to their abilities, interests and needs. provides the opportunities for students to develop a basis for career decision making by helping them consider all data.

Educational Guidance (individual and group); helps students developing their cognitive, emotional, social and intellectual capacities. guides in the selection of programs or classes which are appropriate for the student’s existing life goals.

Counseling (Psychological Guidance); helps students who have problems. helps students experiencing continuous growth, development and change.

Placement and Follow-up makes placement of students who need special education to the appropriate educational environment. follows the development of the students who need special education.

Consultation and Assistance provides effective and productive guidance and counseling facilities to the schools. provides assistance and coordination in guidance and counseling activities to the schools.

Family Counseling; To give information to the parents about child rearing, discipline, child education, child development and etc.

Special Education provides educational opportunity and counseling services for individuals who need special education (mental retardation, hearing impairments, visual impairments, learning disabilities, gifted and talented, health and psychical impairments, communication disorders, speech impairments and etc). makes an educational diagnosis of students who have learning disorders, failures and etc.
