In simple terms- A HYPERBOLE is an extreme exaggeration to make a point and probably could never actually happen. I can remember the meaning of HYPERBOLE in a goofy way. If a person is “hyper” they are demonstrating extreme, crazy behavior. Hyperboles are extreme and crazy sayings.
I waited eternity for the bus! I’m so hungry, I could eat a horse! It took my sister a million years to get ready! His brain was the size of an ant! Her shoes looked like boats! Hyperboles are a great way to jazz up your writing!
