Summary: Bhadravathi,Karnatka I had my industrial training in VISL Bhadravathi,Karnatka. My work was focusing on finding energy saving opportunities in process. Presentation Topics: Bhadravathi 1. Details of my training Bhadravathi. 2. Process Flow chart of Visl 3. Suggestion and Findings. Presentation Intro

Work Sequence: First 10 Days Understanding the Steel making at VISL and finding energy saving opportunities. Next 7 Days Work had focused on developing strategies to save energy and workout technical feasibility of suggestions. Last 4 Days Writing the final report to submit to VISL. Training History

Findings and Suggestions 1..BOF Oxygen blowing end point determination. Due to manual determination of end of blow point of oxygen, lot of iron is getting wasted as slag. This reduces the yield factor of the BOF process and increases the amount of CO 2 gas released into the atmosphere. If a dynamic model can be implemented on the basis of flue gas composition and temperature, productivity and the yield factor of BOF process can be significantly improved. 2.In Cooling Tower possibility kW power generation with of 3 micro Hydel power plant. Work Contribution

Micro Hydel power Plant from cooling Tower Work Contribution Height of tower(H)= 4m Discharge(Q) = 0.375m 3 /sec= 375l /s Efficiency( )=.75 The Tower has three outlet so we suggested three Micro Hydel power Plant.
