Launch The mission was launched on April 11, 1970 at 1:13pm.

Two days into the flight, the astronauts aboard the spacecraft heard a loud crashing sound which caused fluctuations in the electrical power.

The astronauts initially thought they had been hit by an meteoroid, but later discovered that one of their two oxygen tanks had exploded. The astronauts initially thought they had been hit by an meteoroid, but later discovered that one of their two oxygen tanks had exploded.

► They eventually decided that a moon landing would be unsafe and that the best plan would be to get the astronauts back home.

One major problem was that there was too much carbon dioxide in the space craft. The engineers eventually figured out a way to get the lithium hydroxide (capable of removing carbon dioxide) from the Command Module to the Lunar Module

Another problem was that there was not enough energy to power up the space craft after the shutting down the command module. Another problem was that there was not enough energy to power up the space craft after the shutting down the command module. Engineers on Earth developed a new protocol to save enough energy aboard the spacecraft. Engineers on Earth developed a new protocol to save enough energy aboard the spacecraft.

The spacecraft finally landed in the Pacific Ocean on April 17, The spacecraft finally landed in the Pacific Ocean on April 17, 1970.
