Project Name Your Name or Team’s Member’s Names Current Date Be creative. Use a more attractive theme/background for your slides. Relate the color theme to the project.

Project Summary/Overview See page 407, Figure 10-3 for filling out the following: – Objective: – Scope: – Assumptions: – Cost: – Schedule:

Schedule High level Gantt chart goes here. Summary level plus one more level. Remember this presentation is for management. They don’t need to see a lot of details. Plus you need to fit it on to this slide. Use the Copy Picture feature in MS Project to create the Gantt chart. Steps: display the Gantt chart on your screen, Task tab, Clipboard group, drop-down arrow on the Copy button. It takes trial and error to get the right view. Or, in Windows 7 use the Snipping Tool. Example:

Earned Value Chart Insert the Earned Value chart here. See Appendix A and assignment instructions on setting the baseline. Also, see the Chapter 7 Appendix A.61 notes on the lectures page or this link: 1VisualReportsEarnedValueChart.pdf on how to create an earned value chart using the MS Project’s Visual Reports feature and Excel. This document is using MS Project 2007, but is still helpful especially once you get the chart in to Excel. Here’s an example: 1VisualReportsEarnedValueChart.pdf

Software Development Approach Read the case study for background information. Your project sponsor wants to know what systems development approach you choose for this project and why. Go back to your Internet research on systems development life cycles (assignment 2, chapter 2). Pick one of the SDLC methods that would best fit this case study. Present it here. You may need more than one slide, but not too many!

Supplemental Documents Create links to project documents here: – Project Charter (assignment 3, chapter 4) – Scope Statement (assignment 4, chapter 5) – MS Project Plan (.mpp file) contains the WBS, Network Diagram, Resources, etc. – Create reports from the Report menu in MS Project and save as.pdf files: Project Summary Report Milestone Report Cash Flow Report Budget Report Earned Value Report Any other report you think is important and that management might ask a question about. To create links: right-click the text such as Project Summary Report, from the shortcut menu select Hyperlink…, then navigate to the file, select the file, click OK.
