All classes may be cancelled at short notice, please call for up to date information and to book an appointment. A specialised exercise programme for people who have previously experienced a fall, are frightened of or at risk of falling. The programme is designed to reduce your risk of falling, by using exercises that work on balance, strength, stamina, posture, mobility and co-ordination. Refreshments are available at some sessions. There is a charge to attend this session Evolve aims to help individuals lose weight through leading a healthier and active lifestyle. Evolve is a 12 week programme designed to give individuals the necessary tools to be able to make small realistic changes which can be maintained to lead a lifelong healthy lifestyle. A Time to Change appointment must take place before anyone can attend Evolve. There are funded places available on this programme. EVOLVE PLUS – The Evolve programme aims to help individuals lose weight through leading a healthier and active lifestyle. Evolve Plus is a weekly weigh-in and low intensity exercise session to support people who are trying to lose weight. This session is ideal support for those involved in some of the locally run weight management programmes. A Time to Change appointment must take place before anyone can attend Evolve Plus. Please call Sports & Leisure Development Services on to book an appointment. There is a charge to attend this session. Fun 4 Life is a weight management programme for young people in Walsall between the ages of 8 and 16. The programme is aimed at individuals and their families who are overweight and wish to increase levels of physical activity as well as making lifestyle changes in order to prevent an increase in weight. A Way4ward appointment must take place before anyone can attend Fun 4 Life. There are funded places available on this programme. This programme has been developed for clients who experience conditions that have resulted in reduced mobility. The programme’s aim is to provide opportunities for clients to increase their levels of physical activity to either improve or manage their condition and benefit their health. A Time to Change appointment must take place before anyone can attend Community Hydrotherapy. There is a charge to attend this session. Jog Walsall provides a weekly programme of free sessions aimed to encourage people to become fitter and be more active by starting to jog on a regular basis with people of similar fitness levels. Anyone who is new to jogging, or has not run for a long time, can be guided through a series of gentle walking and jogging programmes led by a qualified Jog Walsall leader. All jogs are free of charge. Physical Activity for Cardiac Enhancement (PACE) is a programme of specialised community based activity sessions aimed at clients who have either experienced a cardiac episode or may have risk factors or coronary heart disease such as high blood pressure or cholesterol, diabetes, may be overweight or have a family history of coronary heart disease. A Time to Change appointment must take place before anyone can attend PACE. There is a charge to attend this session. Skilz 4 Sport is a programme offered to young people who have low skill ability, who may have low physical activity levels and as a result may be overweight or obese. The sessions are designed to be fun, safe and essentially inclusive so that children of different skill levels are able to compete at their own level. There is a charge to attend this session. Walking is one of the best and easiest ways of becoming more active. Refreshments are available at some walks. The weekly programme provides a range of walks varying in length and terrain with distances from approximately one mile up to about six miles. Most walks follow a circular route with the start and finish locations being the same. Refreshments are available at some walks. All walks are free of charge.
