DOE SPR Mission The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) mission is to store petroleum to reduce the adverse economic impact of a major petroleum supply interruption to the United States and carry out obligations under the international energy program.

Awards The Orleans Parish School Board provided the SPR an award thanking them for their donations as well as their overall support to the educational programs in the New Orleans area The Office of the Federal Environmental Executive honored the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for outstanding federal electronics stewardship of donated and recycle excess or surplus electronics through the Electronics Reuse and Recycling Campaign (ERRC).
