Teacher Training / Resources Each teacher will receive a Dell laptop to use during the grant period (must be returned to CP Schools) – Following software to be included: Windows 7 Microsoft Office 2010 Snap by Lectora (this is a $100 program for free) – If you want to begin with the free 30 day trial till laptops are distributed, go to Snap by LectoraSnap by Lectora USB headset for voice narration, etc.
Grant Overview Requirements: – All content should be entirely online based with the following things taken into consideration: As interactive as possible by using programs such as Snap by Lectora, Adobe Flash, Google Docs, and Hot Potatoes.Snap by LectoraHot Potatoes – Lessons should be student-led project based learning instead of teacher driven. – Try to make lessons as interactive as possible. – Include rubrics for all activities, assessments, etc. – Include voice narration when appropriate (Presentations, podcasts, etc.) – When creating a Presentation – a template will be provided by C. Wood for all teachers to use as a common look and format.

Requirements (cont): – Create a two (2) semester online course which is designed around the Indiana State standards and the Common Core standards Make sure to identify standards in lessons. – Timeline: 1 st Semester finished and ready to implemented by January nd semester material by May This is an ideal timeline – some courses may take longer to create – All material must be 100% copyright free No textbook materials – Teachers will be paid grant stipend ($3500) in May Responsible for the creation and fine tuning course curriculum – not for implementing course (grading actual student work)

Recommend using a password you use frequently to make it easy to remember.
Modules All courses should be designed with modules (topics format). – Modules can be set up based on topics, thematic units, activities are to be done in a certain order, etc. – Reminder that you must create modules for two semesters.
Web Citation Info Make sure to cite any sources you use in a lesson Websites that cannot be used: – Textbook company websites – Online textbooks – Any site that is copyright protected – Requires a fee to be used Acceptable websites – Most websites created by a professor at a college / university – An article from an online newspaper or news magazine.
