Truman Doctrine-US would support any nation trying to resist communism (Greece and Turkey) Berlin Airlift-US and British planes dropped supplies on isolated West Berlin because the Soviet Union had blocked it from all aid

NATO-North Atlantic Treaty organization formed by western European nation for defense Warsaw Pact-organization formed by eastern block Communist nations in response to NATO
