Always Check the Log > Check the import log after every import > Look closely at: – Errors – Detailed Warnings – Import failures due to configured thresholds > Take a glance at: – New – Existing/No Update – Updates – Detailed Information only
> A percentage of bad data in a file will stop the file from processing – This percentage is set up in the Import Settings > These errors turn the report icon red icon – Set the Process Error drop-down to ‘Yes’ to see the errors SLIDE 4 Stop! What Halts Processing?

> The Import Log shows the details > Are the easiest to resolve > Stop a single record from processing/no data is brought in > Typically mean that data is missing from the import fields or the data is not formatted correctly SLIDE 6 Errors!
> Can be: – Invalid data in field Invalid – Required field is blank Address not supplied User Name not supplied Each import has its own specific errors – Others Duplicate record removed Student/faculty not found SLIDE 7 Errors!
> 'Warnings,' will show data that is not found or skipped during the import – Information is Not Found Responsible Faculty not found Student not found Graduation Year – E.g is more than allowable for the program SLIDE 8 Detailed Warnings
> You can: – Manually correct the file Remember that the next import may have issues to – Manually correct the data in the source system it is retrieved from and recreate the import files Re-Run the imports – Get IT to correct the data and files for you SLIDE 9 Correcting the Data
> Shows the new data that has imported successfully into CoursEval SLIDE 10 New
> Shows the data that already exists in CoursEval SLIDE 11 Existing/No Update
> Show the data that has been updated in the import > Each data change is logged > Occur when the 'Overwrite Option' is selected in the import or is selected in the import settings > In the Department Import, overwrite existing values is always turned on SLIDE 12 Updates
Detailed Information only > CoursEval TM processes that run during the import – Password generation – Course student enrollment count update – Number of roles added – Number of Surveys synchronized to student enrollment > Shows summary of what happened
