Holte School Consultation evening combined with a Black History Month display

Black History Display On October 21 st 2004, Holte held a consultation evening. It was for parents and pupils in Y7 and Y10. The hall was filled with a display reflecting Black History Month

Pupils’ work There was plenty of pupils’ work on display. This shows work the pupils had done on Black and Asian scientists and inventors

Displays from educational organisations This was a really useful display on Black figures in Shakespeare. It was produced by a curator at Blakesley Hall.

A display on the Caribbean and its food

Pupil achievement at Holte At the front of the display was a board showing how pupil results had improved This is no surprise!!! The school shows clearly to the pupils that the school and teachers value their heritage and the culture of the communities they belong to.

Displays from community organisations Black Boys Can Association Bangladeshi Youth Forum

An interesting story One of the highlights of the evening was meeting Stanford Bean, a teacher at Holte. Stanford had served in the Cheshire regiment and in 1972 one of his duties was guarding Rudolph Hess at Spandau Prison.
