PEDs Policy School Roll-Out of PEDs for Students Students Using Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) on Board Premises and/or at Board Sanctioned Events for Educational Purposes All day long my tongue will talk of your righteous help (Psalm 71.24)

School PEDs Policy Students are permitted to use personal electronic devices (PEDs) on board premises and/or at board sanctioned events for educational purposes in order to support learning, under the direction of staff and only with parent/guardian permission by the use of the Personal Electronic Device Used With WI-FI Network - Student Agreement.

What is a PED? A PED is a personal electronic devices (PEDs) you may bring to school and use for school sanctioned educational purposes Only authorized PEDs can be registered to the board wireless network ALL other PEDs that are not being used for educational purposes must follow Dufferin- Peel’s policies and procedures

Your Role & Responsibilities Board wireless technology is used for curriculum-related/educational/ instructional purposes only and under the direction of staff their personal electronic device is fully charged upon arrival to school. Students should not assume access to electrical outlets for charging any personal communications (i.e., phone calls, text messages, etc.) will continue to be directed through the main office

Student Agreements GF O66, Network User Application and Agreement GF …, Personal Electronic Device User Agreement In addition to the school’s Catholic Code of Conduct and to outline in some detail the responsibilities of the school and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, any student using the school network is required to adhere to the following rules: These are the “Rules of Conduct” for Electronic Networks in Dufferin-Peel schools, including internet access. Etc… In compliance with the Catholic Code of Conduct and other board policies and procedures including but not limited to the Student Network User Application and Agreement, any student opting to use a PED while on school premises for educational purposes is required to adhere to the following: I understand that if I bring my PED to school I must follow board and school policies regarding appropriate use of technology. Etc… De Online interactions are reflective of our Gospel values and virtues As you are aware of the Network User Agreement upon registration at a school we will now have a companion GF involving the Personal Electronic Device User’s Agreement will also be completed upon a registration to a Dufferin-Peel school

DATA PLANS The Board is NOT LIABLE for any DATA CHARGES incurred on a personal electronic device If your PED is NOT registered to the board’s wireless network you will incur data charges

Lost, Stolen or Damaged PEDs The school is NOT RESPONSIBLE or LIABLE for any lost, stolen or damaged personal electronic devices Students should be reminded to secure their PEDs at all times

Failure to comply with the policy may result in a loss of PED privileges and/or any other consequences deemed necessary by school administration.
