Frequently Asked Questions Q: What date should be put in the ‘Account Use Term Start Date’ field? A: The start date of the term for which you are claiming your students first award for the academic year. Ex: If you are a traditional semester school, your term started on September 1, 2014 and, on February 23, 2015 you are claiming an award to be paid for a student who was enrolled full-time in the fall 2014 term, you will enter 09/01/2014 in the ‘Account Start Date’ (via xGrads) or ‘Account Use Term Start Date’ (via RECN file) field.

Frequently Asked Questions Q: How much of a student’s Part-Time Grant Award can I claim during initial reconciliation? A: You can claim up to 100% of a student’s Part-Time Grant Award at initial award reconciliation. Note: Claiming any part of a student’s Part-Time Grant Award locks the student into that award for their 12-month annual award period

Frequently Asked Questions Q: How much of a student’s 21st Century Scholarship award can I claim during initial reconciliation? A: You can claim up to 50% of a student 21st Century, HEA, or FOC award during your institutions initial term. Note: Student’s in their final term prior to graduation can receive their full award offer up to your institution’s tuition and regular assessed fees; CHE provides overrides on xGrads and in the RECN file so that you can claim the full annual award offer

Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is the schedule we can expect for RECN files to be processed and REJT file to be received? A: We are working to get back to our regular file processing schedule; new RECN files are being provided each Friday and we are working to get clean reconciliation records on the Friday file. We are working on REJT files as well.
