Pemulwuy’s Life P emulwuy was an Australian aboriginal resistance fighter H e belonged to the tribe Bediagal of the Eora people P emulwuy was a carradhy which means he was a clever man or a doctor I t was shown by his clubbed foot P emulwuy was born approximately in the year 1750 in the area of Botany Bay

Resistance Why did he resist?Methods of resistance- It started when he threw a spear at John McIntyre who was Governor Phillip’s game keeper. He eventually died of his wounds. Pemulwuy resisted because he was fighting for the land which he believed was apart of him and the settlers would destroy. He lead a series of Guerilla attacks. From 1792 Pemulwuy led raids on settlers at Prospect, Toongabbie, Georges River, Parramatta, Brickfield Hill and the Hawkesbury River.

He was the reason why many of the settlers died He caused a lot of fear among the settlers as he didn’t die easily He was skill full in preparing attacks on the British Colony He was the reason why many of the Australian Aboriginal people resisted He gave them belief and hope

Timeline of Pemulwuy 1.Pemyluwuy was born 2. Pemulwuy witnessed the arrival of the first fleet 3. Pemulwuy speared John McIntyre who was Governor Phillip’s game keeper 4. Pemulwuy led raids on the settlers at places around the Sydney area 5. Pemulwuy lead an attack at farm Cove 6. Pemulwuy laid a raid at a farm in Toongabbie. He was wounded and taken to hospital. A month later he had escaped from hospital with an iron around his leg 7. He attended a meeting with the governor and other aboriginals 8.The Governor King issued an order that Aboriginals near Parramatta, Georges River and Prospect could be shot 9.
