Waiting on God Ps 25:1-5; 27:13,14 What does it mean to wait on God? It is an attitude of being on the alert to the moving of the Holy Spirit at all time. It ought to be the life style of Christian today.

As we are waiting on God, how does God speak to us? Through His Word Through fellowship or sharing from others Through changes in our circumstances

Why God wants us to wait? To get us in step with Him, sifting our motives (Heb 4:12) To build up our faith (Ps 27:14) To prepare us for the challenge to come (Ps 32:8) God desires our company and dependence on Him (Gen 2:18)

How to wait on the Lord? Actively, not passively (Ps 27:14) Expectantly (Ps 27:13) Patiently (Ps 37:7; 62:1) Courageously (Ps 130:5)

The consequences of not waiting on God We get out of God’s will We delay God’s planned blessing for us We bring to ourselves pains and heartache We hurt others by not waiting on God We bring confusion to our life We miss out God’s best for us

Two things we don’t need to wait Obtain God’s salvation NOW (Luke 4:19,21) Start to learn this lesson of waiting on God NOW (Heb 4:7,11)
