God’s Great Exchange

If you were to die tonight and God asked, “Why should I let you into heaven?” What would you say?

What does God require of us? + Holiness - Sin = Life

What does God require of us? “Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.” Leviticus 19:2 “Do this (love God and your neighbors perfectly) and you will live.” Luke 10:28

What does God see? - Holiness + Sin = Death

What does God see? “Every one has sinned. We all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23 “Your wrongs are the roadblock between you and your God.” Isaiah 59:2 “The payment for sin is death.” Romans 6:23

Man-made remedies for our problem: “I’ll do more good deeds than bad ones!” “I’ll compare myself to others.” “I’ll try harder!”

Man-made remedies for our problem: “Some people think they are doing right , but in the end it leads to death.” Proverbs 16:25 “If someone obeys all God’s laws except one, that person is guilty of breaking all of them.” James 2:10

The Lamb of God

God’s Gift—Eternal Life BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH “[God] saved us because of His mercy, and not because of any good things that we have done.” Titus 3:5 “The punishment for sin is death. But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 “Whoever believes the Son has eternal life.” John 3:36 “God gave you the opposite of what you deserved. He saved you through faith. You had nothing to do with it. This is God’s gift to you.” Ephesians 2:8
