1. Q: What are adjectives? A: Adjectives describe nouns. 2. Adjectives that are used to describe more permanent characteristics are used with ser. 3. The masculine form usually ends in the letter -o and the feminine form usually ends in the letter -a.

4. An adjective must agree in gender and number with the noun its describing. El libro es gracioso. Los libros son graciosos. *dont forget to change the form of ser as well.

Now you try. In the first blank use the correct form of ser. In the 2 nd blank use the correct form of the adjective. 1. Paco _____ __________. (estudioso) 2. Placement of Adjectives In English sentences the adjective comes before the noun, but in Spanish adjectives mostly come after the noun. Memorize this pattern

Placement of Adjectives Subject + Verb + Noun + Adjective Margarita es una chica muy artística. Pablo es un estudiante inteligente. La Sra. Ortiz es una profesora muy buena.
