A VIRTUAL ORGANISATION EVALUATING A national swedish cooperation – no university has all the knowledge. During a fall admission round – May and June – VO is staffed by 40 to 50 evaluation officers (approx. 20 full time jobs) seated at VHS and up to 15 different universities and university colleges. Task, while evaluating in accordance to mutually agreed guidelines : Check authenticity Check comparability with qualification requirements – i.e swedish education system and thereby enable the swedish HEI to decide if a student is eligbile, how to rank the student and whether grant him/her admission or not. QUALIFICATION ASSESSMENT GROUP Appointed by The Association of Swedish Higher Education. 12 members – 2 VHS and 10 representing different HEI Task – by mutual agreement decide and recommend guidelines for assessing eligibility and comparable grades. Three handbooks - Swedish, foreign pre-uni, foreign academic credentials Almost all decisions by HEI concerning eligibility and ranking follow the recommendations of the group.
