21 GREAT WAYS TO STOP PROCRASTINATING AND GET MORE DONE IN LESS TIME BOOK BY BRIAN TRACY

If you have to eat two frogs, eat the ugliest one first.

If you have to eat a live frog at all, it doesn’t pay to sit and look at it for very long.

There is a great rule for success: Think on paper. Goal Setting 1. Decide exactly what you want 2. Write it down 3. Set a deadline on your goal; set sub deadlines if necessary 4. Make a list of everything that you can think of that you are going to have to do to achieve your goal 5. Organize the list into a plan 6. Take action on your plan immediately 7. Resolve to do something every single day that moves you toward your major goal The power of written goals

Increase your return on energy Six-P Formula Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance Two extra hours per day

Number of tasks versus importance of tasks Focus on activities, not accomplishments Motivate yourself

Make better decisions about time Rule: Future intent influences and often determines present actions Obey the law of forced efficiency Three questions for maximum productivity 1. What are my highest value activities? 2. What can I, and only I, do that if done well will make a real difference?” 3. What is the most valuable use of my time right now?

Learn to say … No! Procrastinate on purpose

Think on paper A – must do’s – frogs B – should do’s C – nice to do D – delegate E – eliminate Take action immediately

Clarity is essential The great question “What one skill, if I developed and did it in an excellent fashion, would have the greatest positive impact on my career?”

One thing all day long Take immediate action Transform your life Work all the time you work

Create a comfortable workspace Launch toward your dreams

Crossing a great desert Take it one step at a time

Never stop learning Learn what you need to learn so that you can do your work in an excellent fashion

Increase your earning ability Do what you love to do

Look into yourself Strive for accuracy

Lead the field

Overworking can mean under-producing Work at your own pace Get enough sleep Guard your physical health

Develop a positive mental attitude 1. Look for the good in every situation 2. Seek the valuable lesson in every setback or difficulty 3. Look for the solution to every problem 4. Think and talk continually about goals

You have a choice Refuse to be a slave A servant, not a master

“Swiss cheese” your tasks You will find it easier to do a single, small piece of a large project than to start on the whole job

Schedule blocks of time Remember, the pyramids were built one block at a time

Get into “flow” Trigger high performance in yourself Build up a sense of momentum Do it now!

Once you get going, keep going By concentrating single-mindedly on your most important task, you can reduce the time required to complete it by 50 percent or more Self-discipline is the key
