Jl. What are Tidal Turbines? Tidal turbines are the latest water power TECNOLOGY used in tidal areas. They look like wind turbines that are lined together.
Hydro-Electric Power. Worldwide, Hydro-Electric Power plants produce about 24 percent of the world's electricity and supply more than 1 billion people.
Electricity production Generally (except for solar cells) a turbine is turned, which turns a generator, which makes electricity.

Energy Generation- Oyster Wave Converter

Pelamis Wave Power

Other Wave Energy Converters

Advantages The energy is free - no fuel needed, no waste produced. Not expensive to operate and maintain. Can produce a great deal of energy. Wave power is renewable. Disadvantages Depends on the waves - sometimes you'll get loads of energy, sometimes almost nothing. Needs a suitable site, where waves are consistently strong. Some designs are noisy. But then again, so are waves, so any noise is unlikely to be a problem. Must be able to withstand very rough weather.
