Page 1 Orchard Harvest ™ LIS Find a Patient Training

Page 2 Introduction Two ways to search for Patient information. –Find a Patient –Find a Sample View Patient Demographic Information and a summary of Orders. Encounter information Insurance Company information. Results.

Page 3 Introduction Choose [Find A Patient] from the Work Centers.

Page 4 Find a Patient vs. Find a Sample

Page 5 Find a Patient vs. Find a Sample After making that selection a new window will open.

Page 6 Find a Patient vs. Find a Sample There are two options to choose from at this window. Find a Patient will allow you to search by Patient Name or Identification Number, etc. Find a Sample will allow you to refine the search immediately by searching by specific Sample IDs that are associated with specific orders.

Page 7 Find a Patient Enter at least a portion of the Patient’s name into the Matches field while using the IntelliQuery option. Then click [Find].

Page 8 Find a Patient Harvest will then display a list of all possible matches to the search criteria. Highlight the file you are searching for and then click [Accept].

Page 9 Find a Sample If you know what SID you are seeking information from, enter that number in SID matches field.

Page 10 Find a Sample You will then be taken directly to the Results Explorer.

Page 12 Editing Patient- Patient Info Tab After working the Find a Patient search, a window will open that displays the Patient’s demographic information and a summary of orders.

Page 13 Editing Patient- Patient Info Tab The left side of the window is a general over view of the Patient’s Demographic Information.

Page 14 Editing Patient- Patient Info Tab The right side of this window shows a summary of the Patient’s Active Orders at the top, Recurring Orders in the middle and the Patient’s Stored Orders at the bottom.

Page 15 Editing Patient- Patient Info Tab Orders- This area lists the orders placed and collected for this patient. The list includes the order choices in the order and the date the patient’s sample was drawn.

Page 16 Editing Patient- Patient Info Tab Recurring Orders- This area lists the names of the recurring order choices and the dates of recurring orders for this patient. Double click an order to edit the recurrences for the order.

Page 17 Editing Patient- Patient Info Tab Unreleased Orders- This field lists the draw date, order choices, and provider for all unreleased orders for the patient. You can use the Release Stored Orders window to accession these orders.

Page 19 Editing Patient Encounter Use this tab to create, edit, or delete encounter information. Not all facilities will need to take advantage of this particular feature.

Page 20 View Patient Insurance Information

Page 21 Editing Patient Insurance Use this tab to create, edit, or delete insurance carrier information, as well as rearrange the insurance hierarchy.

Page 22 Editing Patient Insurance Click on [Manage Insurance] to make changes.

Page 23 Editing Patient Insurance A new window opens that can be used to edit the order in which insurance plans provide coverage.

Page 25 Editing Patient Results Explorer All of the active orders that have been placed for a patient are displayed on the left side of the window, sorted by date and time.

Page 26 Editing Patient Results Explorer To view the order choices in an order, either click on the plus sign (+) beside a date, or click the [Expand All] button to view the details for all orders.

Page 27 Editing Patient Results Explorer The [Collapse All] button will close all of the details for the orders, allowing you to view the list of orders sorted by date and time.

Page 28 Editing Patient Results Explorer Select an order to display the following information: Sample IDThe Harvest Sample ID for the order choice. Draw DateThe date and time the sample was drawn. Delivery DateThe date and time the sample was delivered to the testing facility. Order DateThe date and time the order was created in Harvest LIS, Harvest Webstation, or the host system.

Page 29 Editing Patient Results Explorer Select an order to display the following information: ProviderThe patient’s provider. Requisition NumberThe requisition number for the order. Draw LocationThe location where the patient’s sample for the selected order was drawn. Entered ByEither the name of the person who manually entered the order, or the person who released it into Harvest from Release Stored Orders.

Page 30 Editing Patient Results Explorer Select an order to display the following information: ApprovedThe date and time the results were approved. PrintedThe date the record was last printed. FastingWhether fasting was reported and the duration of the patient’s fast. ID CommentLists information that was entered regarding the order in the ID Comment field during order entry or on the Edit Sample Information window.

Page 31 Editing Patient Results Explorer Test Results can be seen by double clicking a line. To view the Creatinine result, double click this line.

Page 35 Editing Patient Results Explorer A summary of Diagnoses, Rejected Orders, User Actions Log, Comments, and the Change Log can be viewed by accessing options at the bottom of the screen.

Page 44 Editing Patient Results Explorer It was cancelled because the laboratory did not have enough patient sample to perform the assay.

Page 45 Editing Patient Results Explorer Click on [Comments] to view Patient Level Comments that have been entered before.

Page 46 Editing Patient Results Explorer Some orders had been deleted.

Page 47 Editing Patient Results Explorer Click on [Cancel] to exit this patient file.

Page 48 Editing Patient Results Explorer Click on [Save Patient] when you have made changes that need to be saved.

Page 50 Using Find a Patient- Help You can find Help available by clicking the word Help along the top of the application, and then choose the search method you prefer;

Page 51 Using Find a Patient- Help or you can use the F1 key. This will take you directly to help topics related to the area of the software that is currently in use.

Page 52 Sign Out of Harvest when your work is done

Page 53 Sign Out Prior to leaving your workstation, it is important that you sign out of Harvest. Click on the red X when you are ready to sign out.
