Assessing Risk, Negotiating for Behavior Change, Respecting Culture Standardized Patient Case DVD

This DVD demonstrates some implementation techniques and strategies for use of “The Heart Truth: Assessing Risk, Negotiating for Behavior Change, Respecting Culture” standardized patient case.

The case depicts a 43 year old African American woman with significant risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

Content areas include: heart disease risk factor assessment using evidence based guidelines patient centered negotiation for behavior change respect for cultural perspectives

The case can be used for small group teaching or adapted for use as an assessment tool.

The case can be customized: for women of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds to learners from all health professional backgrounds –Medicine –nurse practitioner –physician assistant –Pharmacist –physical therapist –nursing students –lay health educators to different levels of learner –preclinical or clinical students –Residents –practicing clinicians
