Future simple How do we form the future? - We use the auxiliary “will” + a main verb. Examples: “She will go to school on Monday” “They will write a book”

Will-won't  Future simple Will is used in: -AFFIRMATIVE -NEGATIVE & -INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES With all personal pronouns: I/you/He/She/It/we/they

WILL-WON'T  Future simple AFFIRMATIVE We will do exercises about the simple future. He will sing in class. They will read a book. INTERROGATIVE: Will you go dancing on Saturday? Yes, I will No, I will not (=won’t) Where will you go? I will go to a disco.

 SIMPLE FUTURE- WILL-WON'T SHORT ANSWERS Will you be late? Yes, I will. No, I won't. Will they go to her party? Yes, they will. No, they won't. NEGATIVE FORM We will not do exercises about the simple future. He will not sing in class. They will not write a book.

Future simple-Short forms We can also use the SHORT forms: AFFIRMATIVE We'll do exercises about the simple future. He'll sing in class. They'll read a book. NEGATIVE FORM we can use the short form “won’t” instead of will not.  We won't do exercises about the simple future. He won't sing in class. They won't write a book.

SIMPLE FUTURE  PREDICTIONS - We often use will/ won't + infinitive for future predictions, i.e, to say things we think, guess or know about the future. A.-“I've broken Sarah's laptop” B.-”Oh no, She'll be really angry” A.-”My brother's going to sell his car” B.-He won't get much money for it. It's very old. Failed prediction!

PREDICTIONS

“This won't hurt a bit”

Will-won't-Predictions We often use: I think/I don't think+ will. Eg. I think he'll get here on time I don't think he'll get here on time. I think he'll pass the exam. Do you think it will snow?

GOING TO FOR PREDICTIONS We can also use “be going to” to predict something you know or can see is going to happen. There's some kind of evidence. Ex: Look at the clouds. It's going to rain. “They're playing very well.I'm sure they're going to win.

Will-Won't:Promises Use will-won't+ infinitive for: 1.-Making decisions: Eg. “I'll have the steak” “I won't stay for dinner”. I think I'll go home early” 2.-Offering. Eg. “I'll help you with those bags””Shall I open the window?” 3.- Promising. Eg. “I'll always love you” “I won't tell anybody”

Offering Shall I.....? is only used when an offer to do something is asked as a question and in suggestions. Eg. Shall I make you a cup of coffee? Shall I close the door? Shall I help you with your bags? Shall we get a taxi?(suggestions) Shall we go to the cinema? (suggestion) In other future contexts Will I...? is used. Eg Will I need my passport?
