10 th Grade Notes Take 7 minutes to carefully read the entire passage. If you see a word you don’t understand, keep reading and use context clues to guess the word’s meaning. There will be 4 questions this week. You will have 2 minutes to work on each question individually. You will have 1 minute to work on each question as a group.
#1 – After reading paragraphs 1-4, what do we know about Mercedes? A – Mercedes doesn’t understand how to operate a dog sled. B – Mercedes is angry with Hal for whipping the dogs. C – Mercedes is abusing the dogs. D – Mercedes is preventing the dogs from pulling the sled.
#2 – In paragraph 5, how does Buck take revenge on Hal? A – He bites Hal in the leg. B – He causes the sled to overturn. C – He refuses to listen to Hal. D – He trips Hal, causing him to fall.
